Artist Statement of Lucie Mičíková: “I am interested in spatial relations and physical dimensions of an experience. I often transform these into diverse media outputs: drawing, performance, site-specific installation or video. I work often with architectural principles and transpose them into small and fragile forms. My personal installations create a dream-like, utopian, memory-space. I draw on my own experience and writing to investigate the process of looking; my ephemeral works are often subtle interventions into the nature of things.I like to use simple practices – they are sympathetic and unrefined, like casual combinations of drawings, magazine cuttings, photographs and scraps of paper: a kind of half project, half images. Created with imagination and a feel for the ordinary, commercially available materials.”
